About Us
Situated in the small town of Cuckfield, right in the centre of Sussex, we have been ideally placed to meet the building needs of the local clientele and those further afield since 1964 when the company was established.

Helme and Hallett is overseen and run on a day to day basis with a very “hands on” approach by Stephen Helme and Greg Fenn. Greg is a carpenter by trade and joined the company as such in 1992. He became Contracts Manager in 2005, then in 2017, he joined Stephen as a director bringing a welcome injection of new blood to the company!

Perhaps unusually for a construction company, all of our team members are directly employed by us, some of whom have been working with us for many years. This helps to ensure the continuity and stability so essential in maintaining a quality business. But we also take on apprentices regularly, helping to pass on the skills needed for our future. The outside contractors we need to employ for certain projects, are all tradespeople we have known and worked with on many occasions ensuring a relationship of mutual trust.

Our office in Cuckfield High Street is staffed every working day by knowledgeable and helpful team members ensuring that all calls – both to the office in person and by phone - are dealt with promptly.

Whilst we are a long established company, perhaps specialising in the period buildings so much a part of Sussex, we are also a contemporary one, set up and looking forward to meet the needs of your future projects.
